K&L Tastings: Aged Bordeaux Gems, Savoring Sicily, and Blind Tasting

The rosters are set for this week's in-store tastings, so please mark your calendars for an evening (or two) of fascinating and fun exploration with your fellow wine lovers and our K&L staff. Join us and challenge your palate in our new blind tasting series! January will be Part one in an exciting three-part series. This all-levels blind tasting event will focus heavily on the basics and foundations of blind tasting.

This is a fun way to learn more about wine (and drink!) as you'll attempt to identify the grape variety, region, and even the vintage by using only your senses. Taste through a lineup of mystery wines from classic regions of the world and we'll help guide you through the process of puzzling out what they are.

Part game and part education, this tasting has something for everyone -- from absolute beginners who are new to blind tastings or wine in general, to veteran wine drinkers who want to sharpen their skills. Come one, come all!

Join us for a dynamic tasting that celebrates the rich heritage and bold flavors of Sicily, a land where history, culture, and winemaking converge. Our Italian wine buyer, Orazio Campoli, will take us on a journey through Italy’s southernmost island region. Featuring vibrant whites from the volcanic slopes of Mount Etna and expressive reds crafted from Frappato, Nero d’Avola, and Nerello Mascalese, this tasting showcases the incredible diversity of the island’s native grapes and terroirs. Wine-buyer Ryan Moses has carefully curated a lineup that highlights the enduring quality of Bordeaux. At the heart of the tasting are three stellar wines from the Barton family’s legendary St-Julien estates, including a 1999 Léoville-Barton.
