A delicious Italian Red that will blow you away for the price!
There was a long time running where many thought that Primitivo and Zinfandel were the same grape. While they are extremely close relatives, they are not, in fact, the same grape, but they do have a lot of the same characteristics like ripe dark fruit flavors and well-defined spice notes.
This particular Primitivo from Puglia (the heel of the boot) uses the Appassito method of drying the grapes after harvest, similar to Amarone. These grapes were dried for 5 weeks before being pressed, fermented and aged in underground concrete tanks. The end result is a fascinatingly delicious wine that will stun people at this price!
This ultra-ripe and super-expressive Primitivo bursts from the glass with ripe, rich fruit and notes of spice all wrapped around a core of lavish, silky smooth tannins. 60+ second finish.
Grab this now because this is the last of the vintage!
"A deeply coloured wine with exuberant perfumes of ripe red and black berry fruits, with notes of spice. Made in the style of an Amarone, it is concentrated and opulent on the palate, with great balance. It is elegant, velvety and supple, with a long finish. No wood ageing." -Winery
