K&L In-Store Tastings: Italian Greats and More

The rosters are set for this weekend's in-store tastings, so please mark your calendars for an evening (or two) of fascinating and fun exploration with your fellow wine lovers and our K&L staff. Read below for more details on this week's themes.

We’re welcoming world renowned El Pandillo Master Distiller Felipe Camarena to taste his new High Proof Blanco batch for General Gorostieta. The 4th generation distiller is one of a handful of tequila luminaries redefining what authentic tequila is. His exceptional distillery was built to his precise specifications to retain the benefits of traditional production while refining the process into one of the most energy efficient tequila producers in the world. Almost nothing is waste at El Pandillo, yet the goal has always been character of efficiency. We are rarely honored with Senor Camarena’s presence, so don’t miss this opportunity to meet the Master and taste his latest creation.

From the towering mountains of Alto Adige to the volcanic slopes of Mt. Etna and across the rolling vineyard hills of Tuscany, our Italian Greats tasting takes us on a journey across Italy with stops in four of the country’s greatest and most prestigious wine regions: Alto Adige, Etna, Toscana, and Piemonte. We’ll be talking about the key differences in climate and grape variety as we head down the spine of Italy and invite you to join us on this educational journey exploring some of the country’s greatest wines.

Part II of our Italian Greats tasting takes us deeper into the wines of northern and central Italy, from the vine-ribboned hills of Collio in Friuli-Venezio Giulia to the key subregions of Carema, Barbaresco, and Barolo in Piedmont, and finally to the Tuscan town of Montalcino to explore the crown jewel of Brunello.

Join us at Musso & Frank Grill on Wednesday, 9/4 from 7 - 10 pm for a delightful occasion! K&L Spirits Buyer, David Othenin-Girard, will be hosting what's bound to be an exceptional event.

As you arrive, we'll welcome you with a Balvenie cocktail and an appetizer, setting the tone for the evening ahead. Next, you'll be served a flight of three standout Balvenie spirits that are sure to impress. We'll then move on to a sit-down dinner followed by a dessert course paired with the exquisite Balvenie 25 Year.

Each guest will also receive a bottle of Balvenie 21 Year (MSRP $300).

Adding to the excitement, Brett Bayly, the knowledgeable Balvenie Brand Ambassador, will join us for the occasion. Look forward to an engaging presentation led by Brett, complementing the spirits on offer.
