Social Security recipients await COLA news
More than 70 million Social Security recipients are waiting for the news Thursday about how much their cost-of-living (COLA) increase will be for 2025. Due in part to falling inflation, it is expected to be lower for the second year in a row. Last year's increase was 3.2%. 2023's increase was 8.7% due to rampant inflation. The increase is tied to government inflation numbers. It's still better than 2016, when there was no raise. WHY SOCIAL SECURITY'S FATE COULD DEPEND ON ELECTION
