Google signs nuclear power deal with Kairos

Google on Monday signed a deal to get electricity from small nuclear reactors to help power AI. The agreement to buy energy from reactors built by Kairos Power came weeks after word that Three Mile Island, the site of America's worst nuclear accident, will restart operations to provide energy to Microsoft. Tech giants like Microsoft, Amazon, and Google are expanding their data center capabilities to meet the AI revolution's computing needs while also seeking sources of electricity.

SpaceX under fire from California agency

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk hit back at the California Coastal Commission after the body rejected the company's proposal to increase its launch frequency at Vandenberg Space Force Base citing Musk's political and environmental views. The agency's commissioners voted 6-4 against the plea. The Space Force base has served as a launch site its rockets since 2013. SpaceX, which initially had a permit for 36 launches per year, had recently proposed to increase the launch frequency to 50.

Russia can attack NATO by 2030: Germany

Russia will likely be capable of launching an attack on NATO by 2030 and is ramping up efforts to disrupt Ukraine's Western supporters with sabotage, German intelligence chiefs warned Monday. Germany, Kyiv's second biggest military backer behind the US, is being targeted by Russian spying and sabotage activities. At a hearing, the heads of Germany's domestic and military intelligence took turns warning of the growing threat from Russia against the backdrop of Ukraine's invasion.
