Israel accepts US truce deal; Hamas next?

Top US diplomat Antony Blinken was in Egypt on Tuesday for talks on a Gaza ceasefire after saying Israel had accepted a US proposal for a deal and urging Hamas to do the same. Blinken began talks with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on Tuesday before heading to Doha, the scene of ceasefire talks last week, for a meeting with Qatar's emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani. Egypt and Qatar are working alongside the US to broker a truce in the 10-month Israel-Hamas war.

Boeing halts 777X testing after part failure

Boeing has suspended flight testing of its new 777X wide-body jet after identifying the failure of a part connecting the engine to the body of the aircraft. Boeing has been beset in recent years with concerns about safety and quality control, with a near-catastrophic incident on an Alaska Airlines Boeing 737 MAX in January bringing renewed pressure on the company. Boeing's 777X wide-body program, unveiled in November 2013, is the latest addition to its popular 777 family.

Google faces lawsuit in Chrome 'Sync' case

A federal appeals court on Tuesday breathed new life into a lawsuit by Chrome users who say Google gathered data even though they did not "Sync" to their accounts. A panel of judges in California ruled that a lower court was wrong to toss the case on the grounds that Chrome users had agreed to Google's privacy policy, and that the lawsuit should head for trial. Google launched Sync in 2009 with the aim of letting Chrome users access bookmarks, passwords, tabs and more.
