Special counsel Jack Smith's conspiracy case against Donald Trump was unsealed by a federal judge on Wednesday, revealing detailed claims about the former president's efforts to stay in power after losing the 2020 election. US District Judge Tanya Chutkan released Smith's 165-page filing nearly one month before the 2024 election. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei sent a message through an envoy urging Nasrallah to flee for Iran, citing intelligence suggesting Israel had deeply infiltrated Hezbollah and has planning to kill him. Khamenei has remained in a secure location since ordering Tuesday's retaliation through a barrage of some 200 missiles fired at Isarel.

EU targets social media's 'harmful' content

The EU voiced concerns about "harmful" content posted on Snapchat, TikTok and YouTube as it told the digital platforms on Wednesday to hand over more information on how they recommend content to users. The three platforms must "provide more information on the design and functioning of their recommender systems". Recommender algorithms are used by platforms to push more personalized content. The query was made under a landmark law known as the Digital Services Act.

Vance dodges Walz's question about 2020

Critics from both sides of the political aisle largely gave Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance high marks for his showing in Tuesday night's vice presidential debate. But it was what Vance wouldn't say -- whether or not running mate Donald Trump lost the 2020 election -- that left a bad taste in the mouths of voters.
