Dear Pros,
It's Food & Wine's senior editorial director Sean Flynn here. I oversee the digital publication and work with a rockstar team to execute special projects, helping to bring to life some of F&W's most exciting moments. We're celebrating our most recent endeavor, the Global Tastemakers Awards, highlighting the greatest culinary offerings in America and around the world. Whether that's the best restaurants and dining cities, innovative and immersive bars and markets, hubs for coffee culture, cruise lines and hotels with unforgettable food and drink programs, and everything in between, we have all of your travel plans covered for at least the next few decades.
When we launched Global Tastemakers three years ago, our focus was to inspire people to get out and explore, and that ethos is still core to this project. Then, Covid-19 lockdowns had recently lifted and after spending months stationary, people (our team included) were ready for more human connection and to get out and explore. This list is a collection of all the best destinations to add to your next itinerary, or to even book an entire trip around. Our focus was, and still is, tied to the feeling of a place. We're not focused on white tablecloth-restaurants or over-the-top offerings; we're guiding you to memorable experiences that embody a true sense of place.
From the bustling atmosphere at Palermo's La Vucciria market and offshore excursions with Silversea Cruises, to Bangkok's famed street food and classic cocktails at a chic Paris bar, our list is filled with opportunities for adventure. So when you're planning your next trip, use our list to inspire your wanderlust.
Warmly, Sean
The earthquake in Myanmar has had a catastrophic impact on our leading city for food and drink, Bangkok. So while we celebrate the places that have so much to offer, we should all remember that in times of need, it's important to give back. Here's how. |
