Elysium announces Vision for eye health at every stage of life
On October 16, we announced the launch of our newest product to unlock longevity science for your healthiest life possible:
Vision for eye longevity, performance, and protection. Nearly three years in the making, we developed Vision with the guidance of
Theodore Leng, M.D., Director of Clinical and Translational Research at the Byers Eye Institute at Stanford University School of Medicine, where he oversees more than 50 different research programs. With Dr. Leng, we formulated Vision specifically to support your visual performance and eye health at every stage of life.
"In the early stages of developing Vision, I, like many people, believed eye health centered around older ages and loss of eyesight," said Elysium Health CEO
Eric Marcotulli. "And while maintaining eye health and visual performance is certainly a concern as we get older, I learned that people at any age can benefit from improved contrast sensitivity and the filtering of high-energy blue light, which bombards our eyes every day. We have been privileged to collaborate with Dr. Leng to develop another breakthrough product with Vision, which directly reinforces the highly specialized ways that our eyes have evolved to utilize natural compounds to support performance."
Vision enhances your visual performance by increasing contrast sensitivity, protects your eyes from high-energy blue light and oxidative stress, and targets the age-related loss in macular pigment density. All of this adds up to direct support for daily tasks and performance-oriented activities: reading, screen use, driving, golf, tennis, skiing, and more. As you engage in family life, work, and everything else you love this season, we hope you benefit from this product that supports one of our most valuable senses—your eyesight.

Watch on-demand: Vision and longevity webinar with Theodore Leng, M.D.
Did you miss the recent
Vision webinar with
Dr. Theodore Leng of Stanford University School of Medicine? If so, you’re in luck! You can now watch a replay of his presentation:
Optimizing your vision for daily life, peak performance, and eye longevity. Dr. Leng gave a primer on the anatomy of the eye, including characteristics of the normal or healthy eye and how stress and aging impact vision. He focused on the macula, the role of macular pigments in protecting and enhancing vision, age-related vision loss, and strategies to preserve and restore vision.
“The most exciting thing for me is that the eye is actually part of your brain,” Dr. Leng said.
“There’s a direct connection between the retina—which is the nerve tissue in the back of the eye—and the brain. It’s actually part of the central nervous system. [...] Aging affects both systems in a similar manner. You’ve heard the saying that the eye is the window to the soul, but I think the retina is the window to the body.”
Thank you to everyone who submitted questions for Dr. Leng during and after the webinar. We’ll share his answers on Instagram and in the November newsletter. And keep an eye out for our next expert webinar with renowned aging researcher
Leonard Guarente, Ph.D., Elysium’s co-founder and chief scientist.

AGING 101
Listen: What are macular pigments and how do they support eye health?
If you haven’t yet done a deep dive on the life-changing science of macular pigments, our recent Aging 101 article on how these macular pigments support eye health can help. Prefer listening over reading? Check out our audio discussion created with Google’s NotebookLM. In just seven minutes, you’ll learn why lutein, zeaxanthin, and meso-zeaxanthin are essential for eye health and longevity. Like little bodyguards for our vision, they accumulate in the macula where they filter blue light and neutralize free radicals to protect cells in the eye from oxidative stress and support visual function. Macular pigments decline with age—but you can get more through targeted supplementation.

covers “novel, science-backed” Vision
Longevity.Technology, a popular source for the latest news and commentary on healthspan and longevity interventions, was the first to cover the launch of
Vision. Deputy editor Eleanor Garth celebrated Elysium for
“opting to increase their offering with a novel, science-backed angle”—one that targets specific health concerns and is grounded in clinical research. Garth also noted our commitment to
“self-regulation and standards” and to developing products that target key aspects of aging while serving those who are interested in general health and performance.
“This is consistent with Elysium Health’s emphasis on longevity and overall health, aligning with the company’s existing suite of products that aim to promote wellness across the lifespan,” she wrote.

(and others) choose Mosaic and Basis as top gifts
If you’re like us, you’re already starting to think about the perfect holiday gifts for family and friends. While Amazon Prime day has come and gone, the editorial gift guides that came with it are still great places to start brainstorming. Many highlighted
Mosaic and
Basis this year, including
Town & Country, WGN-TV Chicago, and
The Luxury Spot.
"I have long been a devotee to Elysium's longevity and brain health supplements, but I am newly obsessed with their Mosaic skin health formulation,” wrote Roxanne Adamiyatt,
T&C’s deputy digital lifestyle director.
“It took about two weeks of daily intake,* but I noticed a huge difference in the bounciness of my skin and my skin tone.” On WGN’s daytime show, lifestyle and beauty expert Milly Almodovar called out the clinical research behind Basis and Elysium’s team of scientific experts.
