Austan Goolsbee
Prior to becoming president of the Chicago Fed in January 2023, Goolsbee was the Robert P. Gwinn Professor of Economics at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, where he joined the faculty in 1995. From 2009 to 2011, he served as a member, and later as chairman, of the Council of Economic Advisers, also holding a position in the President’s cabinet. Goolsbee holds a PhD in economics from MIT and both a BA and MA in economics from Yale University.
