PINCH AND SLIDEPinch and slide might sound like a dance move, but it’s actually a grooming technique that can help take your beard to unprecedented levels of softness — especially when paired with Beardbrand Utility Softener.

For the ultimate softening boost, apply a small amount of Utility Softener to a damp beard after you’ve gotten out of the shower. But don’t just rub the softener into your beard. Instead, find the middle of your beard, pinch, and then slide the Utility Softener down to the tips. Repeat this motion until the softener is completely absorbed. And then just go about your day or night.
Why does this work?
The outermost layer of hair is called the cuticle. The cuticle comprises microscopic dead skin cells that give it a flaky look underneath a microscope. Think of fish scales. When all those scales are going in different directions, your beard feels rough to the touch.
