2022 Pico Maccario Barbera D'asti Lavignone

Click to Purchase ($14.99)

This extremely well made Barbera d'Asti is the perfect pop and pour Red!

Pico Maccario is located in the small town of Mombaruzzo in the heart of Piedmont's Barbera d'Asti DOCG. In 1997, the brand was created by brothers Pico and Vitaliano after four generations of selling the family's grapes to other producers. They now own 70 hectares of contiguous vineyards, and a staggering 60 of those hectares are Barbera!

This is a classic Barbera d"Asti that every Italian wine lover will enjoy. Bright red fruit and soft tannins make it extremely approachable while maintaining a complexity that is rare at this price point.

Perfect for your next pizza night or to bring out to your favorite BYOB Italian spot, grab this by the case and enjoy!

"Barbera d'Asti Lavignone is a bright and aromatic wine with aromas and flavors of red cherries, violets and wild herbs. Soft tannins and a moderate level of alcohol and medium weight make Lavignone an ideal wine for immediate enjoyment. It can be served at room-temperature or slightly chilled and with a wide range of foods." - Winery

"Bright ruby red with a shimmering core. Nose of white pepper, ras el-hanout, subtle earthy notes, rich wild berryish and cherry fruit, reminiscent of oranges on the finish. Grippy on the palate, with earthy, slightly loosely knit tannins, good depth, comes in several layers, nice length."  - 92 Points Falstaff Magazine
