Hi there 👋
Our community has been asking the same question lately: What plants can I put on my patio right now? So, we thought we'd share the dirt with everyone!
But first, if temps consistently dip below 40°F nearby, potted plants' roots can be at risk — containers don't insulate like the ground does. Keep them cozy with these tips:
- Use frost-proof containers like fiberglass, plastic, or wood to avoid cracking.
- Choose larger containers for better insulation and place them near a wall for extra warmth.
- Add mulch to insulate the soil or wrap the container with burlap.
Winter care? Easy. Just an occasional watering when temps hit above 50°F will do!
