GORUCK: KIT UP FOR MURPH
On June 28, 2005, U.S. Navy Lt. Michael Murphy was the officer-in-charge of a four-man SEAL element in support of Operation Red Wing in the mountains near Asadabad, Afghanistan. During a fierce gun battle with Taliban fighters, an already-wounded Lt. Murphy risked his own life to save the lives of his teammates, exposing himself in order to transmit a rescue call.
Though Murphy didn’t survive, his legacy of bravery and selflessness endures. To honor him and the countless others who made the ultimate sacrifice to defend our freedom, “Murph” was born. This grueling workout, which was a favorite of Lt. Murphy, consists of a 1-mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 air squats, and another 1-mile run, all while wearing a 20-pound weight vest or body armor.
Kit up for Murph this year in an all-new collection designed in collaboration with GORUCK, the leading maker of tactical training accessories. Featuring custom co-branded graphics, the GORUCK Edition Tactical Short and Shirt are now available. Plus, top off the kit with the Training Weight Vest - complete with an exclusive patch.
