Good Morning Sabah People,
It's Thursday and we were OOO today... Out Of Office. We took the afternoon to break in our new Dallas Brown Sabahs around our favorite NYC neighborhood, the East Village.
Our Dallas Brown may very well become our best selling Sabah. It's a super wearable brown like our Fort Worth -- but with a smoother finish, a creamier hue and soft yellow undertones. These Sabahs are sophisticated, yet relaxed.
We chose this leather precisely with Spring & Summer attire in mind. They'll pair well with everything from navy & blue linens to cream & khaki tones and colorful ensembles to even the wildest of prints & patterns.
Finally, our Dallas leather is waxed & buffed to make this pair extra resistant to everything your summer has to offer. Enjoy!
Sincerely,
The Sabah Dealer

With an afternoon Out Of Office ("OOO") in the city, I tend to gravitate to my old stomping grounds: the East Village. It's maintained a lot of charm over the years - full of independent businesses where longtime locals are the regulars, and with the right blend of grit, culture & new energy. There is always something to discover in the EV!
First stop -- Ergot Records to browse their eclectic, ever-changing selection of new & used vinyls. I always enjoy stopping into this bright & cheery space, and chatting with the two fellows who work there: my favorite way to discover a new artist or sound. It also happens to be on one of my favorite blocks, East 2nd between 1st & 2nd Ave - home to John Derian, Salter House, Il Buco Vita and Karma.
From there, we popped into the newest space of Karma -- one of the original East Village galleries. They've taken over an old garage at 22 e. 2nd street. You can always count on them for a great exhibition.
Note: It's fun to do a pilgrimage to all three of their EV gallery spaces. And then end at their bookstore, which also sells great art prints, at 163 E 3rd Street.
A bit more cruising around... taking note of the newest restaurants, a stroll down one of our favorite blocks e 4th, and then we're hungry. Keeping it quick - we found an outdoor seat at 7th Street Burger. They make a classic smash burger with a delicious sauce and excellent crispy fries. All washed down with an ice cold Mexican Coca Cola!
From lunch, we made our way to an East Village institution: Mud Coffee. Dating back to 2000, Mud Coffee has been keeping the neighborhood caffeinated for over two decades!
A window ledge seat and a couple cortados later...
Well caffeinated, we made our way to some of our favorite EV independent shops, many of which you'll find on 9th Street between 1st & 2nd Ave.
One of the highlights -- a pop into Duo, a store that has offered a curation of vintage finds & independent designers for over 15 years to the EV. I left with some great new vintage workwear pants.
Other stops included DL Cerney, Cloak & Dagger, Fabulous Fanny's and the more recently opened: Jane Cookshop, which carries a fantastic array of cooking ceramics, utensils, cookbooks, glassware, dinnerware and more.
The last stop before heading home -- another East Village classic just a couple blocks from the original Sabah House: Veniero's on E 10th. We left with a cheesecake and box of Pinoli cookies. YUM!
Thanks for following along, and never hesitate to reach out for more East Village recommendations... or to share your own favorite spots. We love to hear from you and learn about the endless hidden gems in this great neighborhood!
We made a Dallas Baba too.
Same leather, different silhouette -- these will be a sturdy beach, travel, pool, and backyard companion come Summer!
