It’s Giving Tuesday and we’re doing something a little unconventional.
We’re donating our 24 Karat Gold-plated Cybertruck to a good cause.
But how’d we get here?
If you were with Ridge in August-September you would have seen our 4th Annual Sweepstakes.
This year we gave someone the opportunity to choose between a Hennessey Velociraptor, 24 Karat Gold-plated Cybertruck, or $100,000 cash.
In October, our winners, newly-wedded Jacob & Krysten, flew out from Wisconsin to check out the rigs before ultimately choosing the cash.
And we couldn’t be happier with their choice — it’ll go to a great home for the new family.
But now we have a Gold-plated Cybertruck to do something fun with.
And this truck deserves a proper sendoff; reviewed and signed by Marques Brownlee, Gold-plated by JerryRigEverything, raced against a $3 million Koenigsegg Agera by Stradman (and almost won), before getting Ubered around by Steven Schapiro.
It’s not only the very first Gold Cybertruck but likely the internet’s most famous electric truck.
So what’s happening now?
We partnered with Zack Nelson, the creator behind YouTube channel JerryRigEverything and the man who gold-plated the truck, to auction the truck off for charity on Cars And Bids.
The proceeds from the auction will be donated to Zack’s Not A Wheelchair foundation, a manufacturer of affordable wheelchairs (quite a costly endeavor).
