Hi everyone,
Fabric science and product innovation lie at the core of everything we do. Seven years ago, Ministry of Supply began partnering with Mbadika—an MIT-founded STEM education nonprofit—to empower aspiring inventors, especially those in middle and high school. Fast forward to today, and this collaborative effort has only gotten stronger.
Here are a few quick M°Lab updates and highlights from the past year:

200+ Kits Created: Now in their 2nd generation, our M°Lab Field Kits have supported fabric science workshops for over 1,000 learners of all ages to explore how STEM impacts them everyday: through their wardrobes.

21 Workshops Held: We’ve led workshops throughout the year, including a special summer session in collaboration with Boston Harbor Islands called M°Lab Island Adventure.

New MLAB MakerSpace: We’re thrilled to announce that Mbadika has opened a beautiful new location for their MLAB workshop space in Cambridge, MA (right next to MIT!), where they host a wide variety of STEM workshops for all ages to #BuildMakeLearn. (More pictures below!)
Whether or not you’ve helped out in the past, here’s how you can support our cause in the new year:
- Buy-one-Give-one: For every Field Kit sold, another is donated to a student in the Greater Boston area.
- Donate: Direct donations to Mbadika can be made through this link.
We can’t wait to see what next year brings - once again, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your ongoing support.
With gratitude,
Netia McCray | Founder, Mbadika
