Dear gaux girls,
These last few weeks, fall in New York has reached its fever pitch. Leafy streets have turned into an explosion of color; the city’s bustling and the restaurants are full again, while the days are getting shorter and the nights longer. And for those of us at Margaux HQ, our boots and loafers are now in regular, if not constant, rotation—the ultimate herald of a changing season.
As I rode my bike (in knee-high Edie boots, no less) to our office in Chelsea one morning last week, I had purpose in mind—the question of why we do what we do, and what’s propelled Margaux forward after all the years (and what I’m so grateful for).
We’ve always said that Margaux is about so much more than the product we create. It’s about the stories we tell and the countless everyday moments, big and small, that we’ve carried our customers through with confidence and comfort. It’s about celebrating ambition and bold femininity and creating a business that believes its success lies in being people-first, inside and out. It’s a belief that personal style is the opposite of superfluous: It’s the outward expression of the self—both who we are today, and everything we hope to be.
Today, I’m feeling grateful for so much, not least the opportunity we’ve had to build a world that celebrates collaboration and community and all those who have made that great experiment possible (you!).
So, while the trees and the seasons change outside the window on 17th Street, and the team grows, and new arrivals from Spain shine from the virtual shelves of our online flagship, we’re reminded that this communal, collaborative spirit is what makes Margaux, well, Margaux. And it’s one thing that will always remain. (That, and our love for the perfect Downtown Boot).
Thank you for being a part of this journey—we’re so glad you’re here.
With gratitude,
Sarah (and Alexa in spirit—she welcomed her first child earlier this month and is currently on maternity leave, spending time settling into this new part of life)
