Meet The Privateers

The MAAP Privateers Program was created to provide crucial support to those carving their own path in the world of elite racing. This year's roster - Rosa Klöser, Freddy Ovett, Russell "Finsty" Finsterwald, Ama Nsek, Ivar Slik and Haley Smith - all aim to push the boundaries of their sport while inspiring others to do the same.

In a new series of interviews with each athlete, we sat down to uncover the personal side behind each Privateer and understand what drives them to reach the very top of their field. First up, Canadian ace Haley Hunter Smith who is not only a decorated athlete in her own right but also a beacon of mental health advocacy to boot.
