I’m writing this on Wednesday morning, and I’m struggling to find the right words—both here, and also with friends and family who are experiencing such a diversity and weight of emotion.
It is the most admirable task to wake up every day and build the world we want for each other. What is difficult in that exercise is how different that ideal looks for everyone. On days like today, it may feel that we’re diametrically opposed, that the values that feel innate to us are alien to others. But finding our way toward the future our children and grandchildren deserve is an active pursuit of kindness and open-heartedness.
Your community today is the same community you will wake up with tomorrow; hold each other in care.
