What are your favorite travel tips and products? |
There’s a new travel app called AmiGo, which has an insider-y, cool-kid feel. It’s one of the places that I pull data from. (People who are on the app can invite friends to join, but I think you can also just get in off the waitlist.) It happens that goop employees both love to travel and have good taste, so I’ve gotten some great recs simply by asking in our company-wide Slack channels. And of course, the goop newsletter and goop.com become a curated conduit of those recs. (The most recent city guide we’ve updated is LA. And there’s more to come in the next couple of seasons.) As far as products, for a plane ride, I travel with hydration packs, Lypo-Spheric vitamin C, little packets of Athletic Greens, and the goop eye masks. I try to stay really hydrated. Oh, and the tall, more intense compression socks from CEP. Those have changed the way I fly. |
What does a typical day look like for you? |
|
|
Wake up, meditate, have coffee with Brad and Moses, exercise. Go to work. Come home, eat, take a bath, watch a murder show. Sleep. |
How much time did you invest in goop when you first started? |
A lot. I was learning how to do everything by myself. It was a one-woman show. It took me a lot of time to think about what I was doing, and I remember it used to take me ages to write each newsletter. So yes, a long time. |
One product to even skin tone? |
Our Youth-Boost Peptide Serum. It actually targets several key signs of aging, including wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, texture, firmness, elasticity, radiance, and skin moisture barrier support. The clinical testing on this product was rigorous, and the results astonished even me—as well as the plastic surgeon Julius Few, who conducted the trial. I just looked back at the data and for skin tone specifically, after six weeks of use, they saw: “Visible improvement in skin tone, evenness, and luminosity (including a visible reduction in redness).” (This was in a published, peer-reviewed clinical study of 19 females and males between 21 and 60 years of age.) More anecdotally, I’ve noticed a significant difference in my skin since I’ve been using the serum regularly. |
Light or dark denim shorts for summer? |

She’s not a therapist, but I’ve personally found Michaela Boehm’s framework of intimacy and sexuality to be helpful in my own life. Also not a therapist, but I loved learning from the perspective of Penda N’diaye, who led an episode on pleasure in our Audible series The goop Pursuit. For a sexologist and licensed therapist, our team recommends checking out Joy Berkheimer, PhD, LMFT. |

What dresses are you styling for the season ahead? |
I appreciate dresses that can span seasons with a few small styling tweaks. Take this G. Label shirtdress. It’s great for spring and summer. You can wear it with a long cardigan and boots while it’s still chilly. And then in the summer, just put on a big straw hat and you’re good to go. To me, it’s perfect for travel—it’s easy to pack, you can use it as a cover-up, you can wear it with sneakers and walk all over Florence until your feet fall off. Also from G. Label: This light sweaterdress. I sometimes find sweaterdresses to be flimsy, but this one is not—it gives you a really nice shape. You could, again, wear it now with the matching cardigan (or another one of your choosing). Or sans cardigan for a summer dinner. It’s a little more dressed up than the shirtdress but still super easy and comfortable. However, should you be looking for a print: I’m a fan of La DoubleJ and think this cotton poplin option is very fun. (And it wasn’t the question, but I also like this La DoubleJ skirt.) |

Hm...I’m a tote-bag girl, L.L.Bean style—and I always get something embroidered on it. Our fashion team says Rue de Verneuil makes the perfect travel tote, so maybe I’ll try one next. |

Nutritionist you recommend? |
Will Cole is a functional medicine practitioner (you’ve probably heard me talk about him ad nauseam), but he’s so knowledgeable when it comes to nutrition. We’ve worked with registered dietitian Shira Barlow for years—and she’s currently taking on new clients. Also love registered dietitian Maya Feller—we published her cookbook Eating from Our Roots. |

Armando al Pantheon, Da Cesare, and Nino. |
I always love to see what’s on at Fondation Louis Vuitton. I think they have put on some of the best shows in the whole world. I love the flea market (Le Marché aux Puces de Saint-Ouen). I’ve written about this before, but I do it with Riad Kneife at Treasurehunt as my guide. My new favorite thing is going to the Little Tokyo section of Paris for delicious ramen. It breaks up all the butter and cheese. I love to go to the Luxembourg gardens. And to go through Le Bon Marché, the best department store in the world. And then keep walking around Rive Gauche and popping into the different design stores. | |

Do you still do acupuncture and cupping? |
I do. If you’re looking for DIY options to approximate the latter, this option from Therabody looks interesting, or this kit from WTHN. |
What is the best sleep mattress? |
An Avocado mattress is a worthwhile investment, I think. Sleep is, of course, incredibly important to our overall well-being (and daily sanity). Avocado uses GOTS- and GOLS-certified organic materials, and the result is incredibly comfortable and luxe. |
This pair of sculptural gold hoops from Renato Cipullo caught my eye—the squared-off outer edge feels a bit different, and they have a kind of ’70s vibe going on. |

When will goop deliver to Europe? |
|
|
Well, some exciting news is that you can now get goop Beauty exclusively at Oh My Cream in France at all locations, and at their two UK locations and one location in Brussels. You can also find us at Niche Beauty, based in Germany. And for those who asked: goop Beauty is at MECCA in Australia and The Detox Market and Gee Beauty in Canada. Thank you for your patience, and I hope you stay tuned for more. |
A modern fashion brand to know (besides G. Label)? |
In my mind, Another Tomorrow is what a brand should be today. Good quality. Working toward a more sustainable model. Their clothes are chic and easy. I have a suit from them that I love. And we just launched an assortment from Another Tomorrow on goop in case you want to see our selects. |
Dr. Few, whom I mentioned above, has his own skin-care line, which includes a clean retinol that makes for a good multitasking product.
And then our beauty team recently introduced me to Klur, which was founded by aesthetician Lesley Thornton in 2014. The Sculpture + A cream contains 1% retinol and feels nice on the skin. (Not retinol, but I also want to try the exfoliating antioxidant-rich mask from Klur—our beauty editor Megan just gave a rave review.) |
Where should I stay in Nashville (on the higher end)? |
Soho House. (You can book a room even if you’re not a member.) It’s in the old warehouse district, and while it’s luxurious, I like that it feels a bit more low-key than some of the hotels downtown. |
Do you miss having a cocktail daily? |
