I happened to read today’s newsletter article on jet lag coming off of a flight. In the piece, our senior science editor explains what happens to our hormones and neurotransmitters as we cross time zones, and she shares advice from a sleep coach on how to shift your circadian clock and thus mitigate jet lag.
Feeling like you’ve conquered jet lag and looking like you’ve conquered jet lag are two separate endeavors. There are a few things I pack in my carry-on to address the latter. First, when I’m in the air, I use these 10-minute eye masks. The clinicals on them are amazing, and they can visibly improve the look of puffiness and dark circles (not to mention crow’s-feet and wrinkles).
And when I land, I use the Colorblur Glow Balms for a bit of skin-nourishing color on my cheeks and lips. They’re made with clinically tested skin-care ingredients—vitamin E, vitamin C–rich sea buckthorn oil, and safflower oil—to help soothe, moisturize, and provide skin-barrier support. You won’t go wrong with any of the shades, and it’s nice to have a trio to mix it up, but my personal favorite at the moment is Whiskey.
Love, Gwyneth
P.S. My other flight hack is wearing long compression socks—I like these ’80s-inspired ones best.
