Gucci | Bamboo Encounters exhibition
Milan celebrates the enduring legacy of bamboo in Gucci’s design history and identity

| Gucci | Bamboo Encounters, a project curated and designed by 2050+ and its founder Ippolito Pestellini Laparelli |
Celebrating the enduring legacy of bamboo in Gucci’s design history and identity, a new Milan exhibition, ‘Gucci | Bamboo Encounters’, is set against the backdrop of the 16th-century Chiostri di San Simpliciano during Fuorisalone 2025.
Drawing inspiration from the handles on the original 1947 Gucci Bamboo bag and exploring how, in subsequent decades, bamboo has become one of the house’s most distinctive design codes, the exhibition builds upon the rich heritage of an extraordinary material via contributions from contemporary designers and artists, all invited by Gucci to reimagine bamboo in bold and unexpected ways. |
