You might think it’s obvious that a furniture company would have furniture designers on staff, but it’s actually somewhat rare! Many brands simply slap their name on products they purchase from manufacturers, but not here: our designers are deeply involved in every stage of product development, from talking with customers to the final drawings. Today, we’ll hear from him on the process of designing Burrow’s first dining furniture. | | | | "For our first foray into the dining room, we wanted to create the classic mid-century dining table, but with a Burrow lens. The chamfered edge profile, subtle leg tapering and carefully selected ash veneer breathe fresh life into this staple silhouette, while still having the ability to pair with most anything." | | | | "Most expandable dining tables on the market are shipped fully-assembled, often in heavy boxes prone to damage, and with annoyingly long lead times. We worked very closely with our manufacturer to develop the assembly, traveling overseas to review prototypes and to make sure every detail felt considered and refined." | | | "The unique expandable glides allow us to ship the table compact, while still providing a super easy and intuitive assembly and an incredibly robust and sturdy structure." | | | |
